Desktop Goose

“Desktop Goose” by Samperson.

“[He will] nab your mouse, track mud on your screen[,] […] [leave] you a message, deliver you memes? Play video games with a desktop buddy who will attack you if you poke him. Fill out spreadsheets while your screen fills up with instances of Goose Notepad.”

Honk honk! I know that you all loved “Untitled Goose Game”, so what could be better than a desktop application to have the cousin of the popular bird around you for as long as you want? The “Desktop Goose” will wander over your screen and do some mischief whenever he feels like it. One of the most hilarious features is his theft of your mouse cursor. Whenever you poke the goose or do something that displeases him, he will run towards your cursor and try to bite into it. If he is successful, he will then proudly drift away with his virtual prey. In this time, you do not have any control over it. Do not worry though, after a couple of seconds he gets bored of it and leaves it behind.

Sometimes the “Desktop Goose” also wanders off the screen and comes back with either self-written notes to you, goose-related memes or simply with muddy feet, leaving brown pixel tracks as he strolls over your windows. Especially fun it is to have this application open while playing video games or getting distracted by it while you work on something. It is also remarkable that the application is modifiable in some ways. You can decide how long the bird will wander around, how ‘aggressive’ he will act and you can exchange the meme images that it will show you. [PLAY]
