Desktop Goose

“Desktop Goose” by Samperson.

“He’ll nab your mouse, track mud on your screen… [L]eave you a message, deliver you memes? Play video games with a desktop buddy who will attack you if you poke him. Fill out spreadsheets while your screen fills up with instances of Goose Notepad.”

Honk honk! I know that all of you loved “Untitled Goose Game”, so what could be better than a desktop application to have this asshole bird around you for as long as you want? “Desktop Goose” features such a feathered ‘antagonist’ – maybe the cousin of the original, who knows – who will wander over your screen and do some mischief whenever he feels like it.

What will he do? One of the most hilarious features is his stealing of your mouse cursor. Whenever you poke the goose or do something that displeases him, he will run towards your cursor and try to bite into it. If he is successful, he will then proudly drift away with his virtual prey – in this time you do not have any control over it. Do not worry, though, after a couple of seconds he gets bored of it and leave it be.

The “Desktop Goose” also sometimes wanders off the screen and comes back with either self-written notes to you, goose-related memes or simply with muddy feet, leaving brown pixel tracks behind him as he strolls over your windows. Especially fun it is to have this application open while playing video games or becoming distracted by it, while you write a text or work on something. But I am sure you will try it out for yourself sooner or later. And do not forget that the application is even modifiable in some ways! You can decide how long the goose will wander around, how ‘aggressive’ he will act and also you can exchange the meme images that it will show you. Honky entertainment for everyone, woooho!
