MURDERCIDE 2017

“MURDERCIDE 2017” by Dave Lloyd, Adrian Vaughan, Louis D. Meyer, Ben Weatherall & Jonathan Murphy.

“Play as post-millennial investigator Jon Murphy, as you point and click your way through a soft-boiled cyberpunk detective story.”

What do you associate with cyberpunk? Grim dystopia settings, neon lights, a color scheme consisting of green and pink tunes, robots, drones, androids and overall a serious, sometimes even sarcastic tune? “MURDERCIDE 2017” covers all that for you, but in a slightly different way. The adventure game revolving around the investigator Jon Murphy is an over-the-top parody title, as Jon is quite the dumbass when he opens his mouth, while his thoughts are represented in a somewhat deep, even existential manner.

The question if you should give “MURDERCIDE 2017” a go can only be answered when you know what type of humor you like. Do you enjoy puns and a bit of slapstick, mixed up with some critical thoughts about the generic usage of cyberpunk scenarios in media? If that is the case, you will find what you are looking for. The neat pixel art and great voice acting are also a big plus. [PLAY]
