Global Game Jam 2018: Mellowdy

“Mellowdy” by Léo Marambat-Patinote, Martin Jacob & Eléonore Chaumont.

“A smooth musical game[, where] you [have to] gather all the notes[.]”

In “Mellowdy” you guide a heart on the way through a wonderfully drawn world, which seems to be inspired by old Japanese legends and sagas. The heart tries to collect notes, which will be gifted by mysterious animal musicians like a xylophone playing mouse. The goal of this game is to make it to the exit to present the love interest of a songwriter his composition.

But be aware of the dangers of this world: Enormous stone hands will try to crush you, the blowing winds want to push you against the walls, square clouds and prickly branches will be in your way. Whenever they’re successful in their venture, you’ll lose one of your notes. That won’t just diminish the love song and the reaction of your partner-to-be in the end of this marvelous adventure, but also your playing experience as well, because the background music itself changes whenever you collect or lose one of the notes. Absolutely fantastic. >>PLAY
