Ludum Dare 24: Evoland

“Evoland” by Nicolas Cannasse.

“[A]n action-adventure game where you start back on a very old monochromatic low-resolution computer, and then both the display technology and the gameplay rules evolve, (maybe) as they did in gaming history.”

“Evoland” is a meta game about the evolution of the adventure genre, especially in regards of the audiovisual representation and the gameplay. If you’re interested in video game history, make sure to take a look on this one. Some of its humor is pretty clever and subtle, but don’t worry, all you pun lovers get served as well. Also, the oldschool “The Legends of Zelda” setting is quite adorable.
